I did something last night that I kind of regret. I read some old posts. I don’t often do it, because I’m generally embarrassed for myself-2-weeks-ago, and I like to reserve my most shattering eye rolls for people who don’t see it coming. But I was on BART and didn’t want to read my book, so [...]
So, you know what that means!
More photos of the Snuggler.
Shit is going DOWN y’all. I got my first business cards (I now network like a fool). Gay marriage is almost okay here in CA (Double Rainbow! So beautiful!). I love my job very, very, very much. I went back to MA for the first time [...]
Other than my ceiling collapse, what’s new with me?
Still jobless, which kind of sucks, since I think Brian is starting to tire of my constant be-slippered presence in our house.
I started running. I know, people. Marie? Cardio? WTF? My preferred form of exercise is yoga, and apparently there aren’t any places looking for dedicated bathroom-swabbers in [...]
It’s been raining here a lot since we moved in, which I don’t really mind, because, whatever, it could be snow. Rain, psh, NBD, I can handle you. It’s been clear the last few days, but the rain resumed this afternoon, gently but distinctly pattering down our gutters. It’s a noise I’ve gotten very used to [...]
So we have a wicked cute apartment (apahtmehnt?) here in Alameda, and I really can’t wait for my couch to come so I can get totally settled and post pictures. I’m still looking for artwork for my bedroom walls, either one large piece or several smallish ones. I got some really great prints on Etsy for [...]
So. We finally got an apartment on an island in the San Francisco Bay. It’s off the Oakland (eek!) coast, and it’s a really seriously super cutesy complete-with-cottages-and-art-deco-downtown little ‘burb. Apparently, it has zero crime and is fairly commutable to SF, which is great. It’s not as hip as the city, but Brian and I aren’t [...]
We’re here in 3 pieces (s-cat, B$, myself) and boy, I do not reccomend moving across this great nation unless you have an incredibly patient significant other, a support system in place at your destination and oodles of patience.
We’re probably applying for apartments in Berkeley tomorrow, and hopefully moving our stuff in next week. Hooray for [...]
What a bizarre feeling to have touched everything I own in the last week or so. I really hope this is the last time I have to move for a little while. I’ve finally been able to separate my feelings about moving clear across the country from the dread I feel about packing up. Turns out [...]
We’re barely going above freezing here in Boston over the next 10 or so days, with wind chills in the single digits. I’m pining for the rainy 40′s that Colleen-in-CA has been warning me about.
New England, you are making this departure all too easy [...]
So. We’re a rollicking 2 1/2 weeks away from becoming residents of the Golden State. New England is choosing to mark the occasion by walloping the suburbs with 6 inches of snow, and Boston with street-flooding chunky rain. Yes, the rain is chunky. Its not quite as graceful and pelting as sleet, not as gumball machine-y [...]
