Depressing

I just looked at my Google Analytics. Not even my parents read this blog anymore. I need to get crackin’ on some new content, y’all.

It’s kind of funny that I’m busy doing super fun things and not writing about them, because when I was writing a ton, I was mostly sitting in my bed with the cat, bored out of my mind.  I’m making some really fantastic friends here, and doing some really fantastic things, and I’m taking a ton of photos, but I’m totally not compelled to write about said things. Probably because the funnyness of Will Brown or the cuteness of Lauren Ross doesn’t translate accurately enough to the Internet.

How could you not look adoringly upon Disco Brian?

Here’s something. I want to start a collection. I have a few friends who collect certain types of things, like antique postcards or glass chickens or first edition Updikes, and sometimes I see things in stores and think “that would be the perfect addition to so-and-so’s collection!” And plus, you guys know how I love posterity. I am determined to leave some kind of tangible legacy. If we’re all doomed to be remembered by future generations (if only in your own family) as that person who… I am going to do it on my own terms. Enter my collection.

My Thomas Jefferson Commemorative Presidential Spoon

Presidential memorabilia. I am officially starting a mixed media collection of POTUS stuff. While I was at home, I bought six silver presidential spoons at an antiques store in Newburyport. Then, at the Alameda Antiques Market, I got an 8 x 10 portrait of Teddy Roosevelt, and I have a postcard of JFK that my mom gave me from the Norman Rockwell Museum out in Western Mass. Lauren suggested I frame the framable and display it as an installation in my house. This is going to be my project. I just don’t know how I’m going to properly display my White House shot glass Kim gave me from a trip to DC. Maybe a little shelf or something? I tingle with excitement.

Anyway. Be on the lookout for (hopefully) more posts. Also, be on the lookout for an “I like Ike” button. I really REALLY want one of those.
