I’ve been lucky in my life to not have been too surprised by death. Minimal tragic accidents, no swine flu, no suicides- we mostly get cancer and old age deaths in my family. Passing away has never really sneaked up on me, and last week was no exception. My mother’s father, Grampy, died after a battle [...] Perhaps, had MLK Jr. come around 40 years after he did, his famous speech may have gone that way. I’ve been social-network-site-ing for about 5 years now, and several facts of the matter have emerged. Almost waist-legnth, disastrously curly, unforgivably tangled. My hair was compared to that (in case you forgot) pretty much every time my hair was [...] There is something so arresting about the sunlight in Boston in July. It usually rains quite a bit here in May and June, so when the sun pokes through and the puddles dry up, the brightness is almost unbearable.
